Maduka Okoye

Italian giants Inter Milan have reportedly set their sights on Udinese goalkeeper and Super Eagles international Maduka Okoye, as the Nerazzurri evaluate potential reinforcements for their goalkeeping department.

Sources in Italy indicate that Okoye’s impressive development and consistent performances in Serie A have caught the attention of the Milan-based club’s scouting network.

However, securing the 26-year-old Nigerian shot-stopper will require substantial investment, with Udinese placing a €20 million valuation on their primary custodian.

Inter Milan are continuously monitoring the market to future-proof their squad depth, and Okoye has emerged as a profile matching their requirements.

Despite the growing speculation linking him to a high-profile switch to San Siro, neither club has finalized a formal agreement, and discussions remain exploratory as Inter weighs up whether to meet Udinese’s asking price.

The transfer chatter comes at a testing time for Okoye and his club side. Udinese recently suffered a narrow 2-1 defeat to Torino, marking their fourth consecutive loss in the league, in a match where the Nigerian goalkeeper was unfortunate to be involved in a mix-up with defender Nicolò Bertola that allowed Torino to capitalize.

For Okoye, a potential move to a perennial Scudetto contender like Inter Milan would represent a massive career leap. Since arriving in Italian football, the former Sparta Rotterdam and Watford player has steadily worked to solidify his reputation as one of the reliable reflexes in Serie A, while also battling to reclaim his undisputed status within the Nigerian national team setup.

Whether Inter’s preliminary interest materializes into an official bid during the upcoming transfer windows will depend heavily on Udinese’s firm stance on their valuation. In the interim, Okoye remains focused on rediscovering collective stability with Udinese as they navigate a challenging phase in the Italian top-flight campaign.
