The Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA) has extended warm greetings to waterways users, operators, stakeholders, and Muslim faithful across Lagos State as they celebrate Eid-el-Adha.
In a statement issued by the Authority’s Corporate Communications Department, LASWA urged all commuters and boat operators to prioritise safety while travelling on the inland waterways, especially during the ongoing rainy season.
The Authority strongly advised passengers to avoid night travel on waterways due to reduced visibility and weather-related hazards that could endanger safe navigation.
LASWA encouraged waterways users to plan trips during daylight hours, remain vigilant, adhere strictly to operational safety guidelines, avoid overspeeding, and check weather conditions before embarking on any journey.

According to the Authority, safety should never be compromised as it remains a collective responsibility of both operators and passengers.

Special Adviser on Blue Economy to the Governor of Lagos State, Oluwadamilola Emmanuel, while congratulating Muslim faithful on the Eid-el-Adha celebration, reaffirmed LASWA’s commitment to ensuring safer, secure, and efficient waterways transportation across the state.
LASWA wished residents a peaceful and safe Eid-el-Adha celebration and urged everyone to celebrate responsibly by observing all safety measures on the waterways.
The Authority also advised members of the public to contact LASWA through its dedicated communication channels for inquiries and emergency support.
