No More Midweek Burials as Anambra Restricts Funeral Spending

The Anambra State Government has introduced new regulations restricting funeral ceremonies, including a ban on midweek burials, in a bid to curb excessive spending and restore cultural values.

Under the policy, burials will now be limited to specific days, primarily weekends, while lavish displays and prolonged ceremonies are discouraged. The government said the move aims to reduce financial pressure on families and promote modest celebrations.
