Fuji music star Wasiu Ayinde, popularly known as Kwam 1, has reacted to allegations that he fathered and abandoned a 12-year-old girl identified as Azizat, dismissing the claims during a live performance in Lagos.
The veteran musician addressed the controversy for the first time at the 10th coronation anniversary celebration of the Onikate of Ikate, Oba Lateef Adams, where he appeared to respond to the allegations without admitting any relationship with the woman or the child involved.
The issue gained public attention after a woman, Ogechi Eleana, claimed during an interview with Feel Right News TV that she was once Kwam 1’s pedicurist and had a romantic relationship with the singer that lasted over seven years.

Ogechi alleged that she became pregnant during the relationship and that the Fuji star advised her to terminate the pregnancy, promising to provide financial support for the procedure. She claimed she rejected the suggestion and later lost contact with him.
According to her, she eventually sought intervention from the late Kabiru Agbabiaka, who she said contacted the musician on her behalf.
She further alleged that she visited Kwam 1’s late mother alongside the child and claimed the elderly woman became emotional after noticing a resemblance between Azizat and the Fuji singer.
During his performance at the coronation event, Kwam 1 did not confirm knowing Ogechi or acknowledge any connection with the teenager. Instead, he appeared to dismiss the allegations, directing those discussing the matter to social media platforms.
“On your phone, turn on Bluetooth. Go to TikTok, then go to Facebook. Anybody who has an unnecessary pregnancy is just like a giveaway. These children, don’t kill me. Go and say it on TikTok and other social media platforms,” he said.
The allegations have generated widespread reactions online, with many Nigerians debating issues surrounding parental responsibility, paternity claims and the welfare of children involved in such disputes.
Azizat, who appeared alongside her mother during the interview, appealed for assistance, revealing that financial difficulties had forced her to stop attending school.
The teenager said she had written songs inspired by her personal experiences and hoped to pursue a career in music but lacked the support needed to develop her talent.
She also appealed directly to Kwam 1 to assist her and her mother, expressing hope that the situation could be resolved.
The Fuji icon, however, has not publicly provided further details on the claims beyond his comments during the performance.
The controversy comes amid renewed public discussions about the responsibilities of public figures in handling private matters that involve children and allegations of parenthood.
