The Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the remand of 38-year-old Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi in the Kuje Correctional Centre after he pleaded not guilty to an eight-count charge bordering on alleged conspiracy, forgery and impersonation.
Adeyemi was arraigned before Justice Mohammed Umar following the takeover of the case by the Office of the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice.
The case, marked FHC/ABJ/CR/562/2025, was initially filed by the Nigeria Police Force against Adeyemi and two other suspects identified as Femi and Anu, who are currently at large.
The prosecution alleges that Adeyemi presented himself as the Director-General of a purported government agency known as the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council.
The government maintains that the agency was not established or authorised by the Federal Government.
Among the allegations against Adeyemi are claims involving forged documents purportedly emanating from the State House.
According to details of the charges reported from the proceedings, some of the documents allegedly included requests for office space, approval of staff accounts and other official correspondence purportedly issued by the State House.
One of the counts also relates to an alleged forged conveyance approval concerning the Presidential Economic Advisory Council and the purported Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council.
Adeyemi pleaded not guilty to all eight counts.

Following his plea, the prosecution requested that he be remanded in custody pending further proceedings.
Justice Umar subsequently ordered that the defendant remain at the Kuje Correctional Centre pending the hearing and determination of his bail application.
Reports from the proceedings indicate that October 12 and 13 have been fixed for further proceedings, including the bail application and commencement of trial.
The prosecution is being led by the Director of Public Prosecutions of the Federation, Rotimi Oyedepo, SAN, while the case is being pursued on behalf of the Federal Government.
The allegations against Adeyemi remain before the court and have not been established as facts. His plea of not guilty means the prosecution will be required to prove its case in accordance with the law.
The case has attracted attention because of the alleged use of documents said to have originated from the Presidency and the reported operation of the purported agency from premises within the Federal Secretariat Complex in Abuja.
Adeyemi’s remand marks another stage in the legal proceedings as the court prepares to hear arguments surrounding his bail and the substantive allegations.
The two other defendants named in the charge remain at large, according to reports from the proceedings.
