President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Abuja after spending six days in Lagos, where he participated in a series of official engagements and private activities.

The President arrived in the Federal Capital Territory on Monday, October 5, after spending several days in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial capital.

His Lagos stay included engagements connected with national development, government activities and private events, as the administration continues to advance its policy agenda across various sectors.

Tinubu’s return to Abuja comes at a time when the Federal Government is preparing for several important programmes and national activities requiring the President’s attention.

The President has, in recent weeks, maintained an active schedule involving domestic engagements, policy discussions and interactions with stakeholders on issues affecting the country.

His administration is currently focused on implementing its economic reform agenda, strengthening national development programmes and addressing challenges across key sectors of the economy.

The President’s movement between Abuja and Lagos has also reflected the importance of both cities to his official and private engagements, with Abuja serving as the seat of the Federal Government and Lagos remaining a major centre of commerce, business and political activity.

Upon his return to Abuja, the President is expected to resume official duties at the Presidential Villa and continue engagements with senior government officials and other stakeholders.

The development comes as government agencies and ministries continue preparations for programmes and initiatives scheduled for the coming weeks.

Tinubu’s administration has repeatedly emphasised the need for sustained implementation of its policies, particularly in the areas of economic growth, investment, infrastructure, security and social development.

The President’s return is therefore expected to mark the continuation of his official schedule in the nation’s capital, with several matters requiring presidential attention.

While the Lagos visit combined official and private engagements, the Presidency has continued to maintain a busy schedule around the President’s activities.

Tinubu was elected President in 2023 and is serving as Nigeria’s 16th President.

His government has introduced a number of major economic reforms since taking office, including changes to fuel subsidy policy, foreign exchange management and taxation, while also pursuing measures aimed at attracting investment and expanding economic opportunities.

The President’s return to Abuja is expected to be followed by further meetings and official activities as the Federal Government continues its preparations for upcoming national programmes.
