Mr Eazi

Nigerian music star Oluwatosin Ajibade, popularly known as Mr Eazi, has revealed that his biggest regret in life is that his late mother never got the opportunity to watch him perform on stage before her death.

The singer made the emotional disclosure while speaking during an episode of the Brut Podcast, where he reflected on his mother’s influence and the sacrifices she made in supporting his career.

Mr Eazi said his mother was a conservative woman who rarely travelled, making it difficult for him to take her along to his international performances.

According to the ‘Leg Over’ crooner, his mother was uncomfortable with travelling, even between nearby African cities such as Lagos and Accra.

He explained that despite his growing international profile and performances across different parts of the world, he could not convince his mother to travel to see him perform live.

“My only regret in life is that my mom never got to watch me perform on stage before she passed away,” Mr Eazi said.

He added that his mother was “very conservative” in her lifestyle and did not enjoy travelling.

“She didn’t like travelling, not even from Lagos to Accra,” he said.

Despite her reluctance to travel, Mr Eazi said his mother remained a strong source of encouragement throughout his career, particularly through her prayers.

He described her spiritual support as an important part of his journey to becoming one of Nigeria’s internationally recognised music stars.

The singer’s comments offer a glimpse into the personal side of his success, highlighting the emotional cost that can sometimes accompany a demanding career in the entertainment industry.

Mr Eazi rose to prominence with a blend of Afrobeats, highlife and Ghanaian musical influences, becoming one of the leading Nigerian artistes to achieve significant international recognition.

Over the years, he has performed at major venues and events around the world while building a career that extends beyond music into business and investments.

However, despite the scale of his achievements, the singer said the absence of his mother from the audience remains a deeply personal regret.

His revelation has resonated with fans, particularly those who understand the desire to share major career milestones with loved ones who helped shape their journey but did not live long enough to witness their achievements.
