All Progressives Congress chieftain Joe Igbokwe has criticised Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke over his decision to leave the Peoples Democratic Party for the Accord Party ahead of the 2026 governorship election.

Igbokwe described the move as a major political mistake by the governor, arguing that Adeleke’s defection could have serious implications for his political fortunes as the state prepares for the governorship poll.

The APC chieftain’s criticism comes amid heightened political activity in Osun, where parties and aspirants are intensifying campaigns and mobilisation ahead of the election.

Igbokwe’s comments were circulated in reports describing Adeleke’s movement from the PDP to Accord as an “unbelievable mistake,” reflecting the growing political debate over the governor’s decision.
