Abia State’s ongoing governance reforms are strengthening public confidence and drawing investor attention, a Special Adviser to Governor Alex Otti has said.
Jerome Green-Amakwe, the governor’s Special Adviser on Investment Promotion and Public-Private Partnerships, made the remarks in a statement issued in Umuahia on Friday to mark Democracy Day.
“For Abians, this year’s commemoration carries a deeper significance, symbolising renewal, responsible governance, and the emergence of a new era anchored on accountability, development, and service to the people,” he said.
Green-Amakwe said the state faced significant developmental and infrastructure challenges before 2023, describing the period as one marked by widespread concerns over public services and economic growth.

“That turning point came with the election of Governor Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, and his deputy, Ikechukwu Emetu, FNSE,” he said, adding that the administration has since pursued policies aimed at restoring public trust and accelerating development.
The aide also acknowledged the role of supporters and grassroots mobilisers ahead of the 2023 elections, noting that the campaign structure was chaired by the late Nnanna Ngwu with Acho Obioma serving as Director-General.
He expressed optimism that the state’s ongoing reforms would be sustained in the years ahead.
