VDM Speaks on Married Women Amid Chike Scandal

As the controversy surrounding singer Chike and the crashed marriage of media personality Frank Edoho continues to dominate social media, popular Nigerian social critic and commentator, VeryDarkMan (VDM), has weighed in on the matter.

In a new video circulating online, the outspoken internet personality shared his thoughts on the heavy temptations that come with fame, while stating firmly that he will never involve himself with a married woman.

VeryDarkMan acknowledged that popularity naturally draws all kinds of people toward a celebrity. According to him, once a person becomes famous, they attract advances from single individuals, married people, and even members of the same sex. However, he emphasized that personal discipline must come into play to avoid catastrophic consequences.

“Popularity attracts different people to you, both single and married, women and even men will make advances at you,” VDM stated. “But the one wey me I know I don tell myself, no matter what, I will never carry myself go comot married woman cloth. Wetin I wan talk say I dey find? The curse wey follow that thing too big.”

Speaking further on the mechanics of fame, VeryDarkMan noted that while it is easy for onlookers to judge from the outside, the pressure and attention that celebrities face are incredibly intense. He explained that he would not blame Chike simply for having a regular conversation with a married woman, as interactions are normal in everyday life and showbiz.

However, he drew a strict line at physical intimacy, blaming the Boo of the Booless singer for failing to exercise restraint. He admitted that the lifestyle of a popular figure is packed with constant temptation from both men and women.

VDM also strongly believes that sleeping with someone’s wife carries a massive spiritual or moral curse that is not worth the temporary pleasure.

He clarified that talking to a married woman is acceptable, but crossing the boundary into the bedroom shows a severe lack of discipline.

“Shay na everybody get control?” VDM questioned, using colloquial terms to highlight the lack of restraint among many young celebrities.

“I will not fault Chike for talking with the woman, but I will fault him for sleeping with the woman because na me know the temptation wey dey inside this popularity life. If say Chike get control, e go know say this place wey I wan go no good.”
