Samuel Chukwueze

Nigeria international Samuel Chukwueze is poised to return to AC Milan following the decision by Fulham F.C. not to make his loan move permanent at the end of the 2025/26 season.

The Super Eagles winger, who joined Fulham on a season-long loan in September 2025, is expected to head back to Italy this summer after the Premier League side opted against triggering the buy option included in the agreement. The development brings an end to what had been a mixed spell for the 26-year-old at Craven Cottage.

Chukwueze initially impressed during the early months of his stay in England, contributing key goals and assists while forming a strong attacking partnership with fellow Nigerians in the squad. His pace, dribbling ability, and direct style of play quickly made him a fan favourite.

However, his impact waned in the second half of the season as he struggled for consistent playing time under manager Marco Silva. Reduced appearances and competition for places ultimately influenced Fulham’s decision not to pursue a permanent transfer.

With his return, Chukwueze will rejoin AC Milan, where he still has time remaining on his contract after signing from Villarreal CF in 2023. His future at the San Siro remains uncertain, as the Italian giants are reportedly undergoing a squad rebuild following a disappointing campaign.

Sources suggest the winger could be given another opportunity to prove himself, particularly amid expected changes in the club’s technical setup. Alternatively, AC Milan may consider offers from other European clubs should they decide to offload players ahead of the new season.

Chukwueze is expected to assess his options during the summer transfer window, with his next move likely to play a key role in shaping the next phase of his career.
