President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has declared Nigeria’s readiness to lead Africa’s next wave of economic reforms, positioning the country as a central driver of growth, investment, and innovation across the continent.

Speaking during a high-level engagement with members of the diplomatic corps in Abuja, Tinubu outlined key policy directions under his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda aimed at stabilising the economy and attracting global investment.

He said Nigeria’s reforms are focused on fiscal restructuring, foreign exchange stability, and sectoral expansion in agriculture, technology, and the blue economy.

The President noted that recent policy measures have already begun to yield results, including improved investor confidence, increased foreign reserves, and greater exchange rate transparency.

Tinubu emphasised Nigeria’s strategic role as Africa’s largest economy, stating that the country’s success is critical to the continent’s broader economic transformation.

“We are not just reforming for Nigeria; we are setting a pace for Africa,” he said, adding that collaboration with international partners remains key.

He highlighted efforts to expand agricultural production, targeting millions of hectares of arable land to boost food security and exports.

On digital innovation, Tinubu pointed to Nigeria’s growing tech ecosystem, including the emergence of unicorn startups and increased data consumption, as indicators of a thriving digital economy.

The President also stressed ongoing tax reforms designed to support small businesses and reduce the burden on low-income earners.

Members of the diplomatic community commended the administration’s reform agenda and expressed interest in deepening economic partnerships.

Tinubu reaffirmed his commitment to transparent governance, policy consistency, and regional cooperation, noting that Nigeria’s reforms are aligned with broader African development goals.

He concluded by urging stakeholders to support the country’s transformation journey, describing it as a collective effort with global implications.
