Vice President Kashim Shettima has praised President Bola Tinubu for establishing regional development commissions, describing the move as a strategic step towards inclusive growth and balanced national development.

Speaking at a policy forum, Shettima said the commissions would address long-standing developmental challenges across various regions, ensuring that resources are deployed more effectively to meet local needs.

He noted that the initiative reflects the administration’s commitment to decentralised development and equitable distribution of infrastructure and economic opportunities.

According to him, the commissions are expected to drive projects in key sectors such as agriculture, education, healthcare and transportation, thereby improving living standards.

Shettima also called on stakeholders to support the initiative, stressing that its success depends on transparency, accountability and community engagement.

Analysts say the establishment of regional commissions could help bridge development gaps and foster economic integration across the country.
