President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has declared that Abuja is regaining its vibrancy as security operations intensify across the Federal Capital Territory, dismantling criminal enclaves and restoring public confidence in the nation’s capital.
Speaking during the commissioning of key infrastructure projects in the city, the President said recent gains signal a turning point in the fight against urban crime.
Tinubu noted that coordinated efforts by security agencies have led to the disruption of notorious hideouts, improved surveillance, and quicker response times to threats. According to him, these actions are not only reducing crime rates but also reviving nightlife, business activity, and social engagement in Abuja.
He stressed that the administration’s broader urban renewal agenda goes beyond roads and bridges, focusing equally on safety and livability. The President said a secure environment remains fundamental to economic growth, adding that investors and residents alike are responding positively to the changes.
Security chiefs have been directed to sustain the momentum, with Tinubu emphasizing intelligence-driven operations and community collaboration as critical tools. He also acknowledged the role of residents in providing timely information, urging continued cooperation with law enforcement.
Residents in parts of the city have reported increased patrols and visible policing, especially in previously vulnerable districts. Commercial operators say business hours are gradually extending as confidence improves.
