Former Fenerbahce forward, Serdar Dursun, has publicly questioned whether Super Eagles talisman Victor Osimhen possesses the precise technical qualities required to thrive at Barcelona, despite the Nigerian enjoying another prolific championship-winning season in Turkey.
Osimhen wrapped up the 2025/2026 campaign with an impressive haul of 22 goals and eight assists across all competitions.
His lethal form in front of goal was instrumental as Galatasaray successfully defended their Super Lig crown, a feat that has inevitably triggered a massive wave of transfer speculation.
Elite European clubs, including Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United, Chelsea, and Barcelona, are reportedly monitoring his situation closely as the summer window heats up.

However, speaking on the Cup Diary programme broadcast on Spor Smart, Dursun argued that the intense, possession-heavy system implemented at Camp Nou would expose the Nigerian striker’s stylistic flaws.
“I don’t think Osimhen can play for Barcelona. Osimhen is a talented player, but he doesn’t have a clean technique,” Dursun stated in an assessment relayed by Turkish sports outlet Fanatik.
The former Turkish international’s blunt critique coincides with emerging reports from Spain indicating that the Catalan giants are currently shifting their transfer focus toward securing Argentine forward Julian Alvarez instead of the Nigerian international.
This pivot further complicates the narrative surrounding Osimhen’s immediate future and narrows the field of potential suitors willing to meet Galatasaray’s valuation.
With pre-season preparations for the upcoming European campaign rapidly approaching, the former Napoli marksman is heavily expected to provide absolute clarity on his next destination in the coming weeks, as the intense scramble for his signature continues across the continent.
