Manchester United head coach, Michael Carrick, has firmly backed Marcus Rashford to play an important role as the new Premier League season approaches, describing the forward as a dynamic player who brings something uniquely different to the squad.

Carrick stated that Rashford has returned to the club in excellent condition and remains a crucial part of his tactical plans ahead of the upcoming campaign.

Addressing the forward’s integration back into the squad, the manager was recently quoted by football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano: “Rashford is our player and he’s come back great. I’ve known him a long time and he gives us something a little bit different.”

The encouraging comments clearly underline Carrick’s strong confidence in Rashford as the club ramps up its preparations for the start of the 2026/27 Premier League season.

The manager also expressed broad optimism about the campaign ahead, noting that the entire team is eagerly looking forward to getting the new season underway.

Rashford spent the 2025/26 season on loan at Barcelona after temporarily leaving Manchester United in search of regular first-team football under the previous administration.

During his time in Spain, the England international made a notable impact. He gained highly valuable experience adapting to Barcelona’s intricate attacking system and successfully competing at the highest level of European football, experience that Carrick is now banking on as the Red Devils look to challenge for domestic honours.
