The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has named several prominent entertainers, including veteran actor Jide Kosoko, Fuji musician Wasiu Alabi Pasuma and Nollywood actress Eniola Badmus, to its campaign council ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The entertainers were listed under the party’s Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate, one of the structures created as part of the Lagos APC Campaign Council.
Other personalities listed include Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham-Ajeyemi, veteran actress Bimbo Akintola, Fuji musicians Abass Akande Obesere and Adewale Ayuba, as well as several other actors and musicians.

According to the membership list released by the Kadri Obafemi Hamzat Media Centre, Commissioner for Tourism and Culture Toke Benson-Awoyinka is the director of the Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate.
Kosoko is listed as Co-Director, while Eniola Badmus is Deputy Director.
Akeem Alimi, popularly known as Ajala Jalingo, was named Secretary, while Dare Olateju was listed as Assistant Secretary.
The directorate includes personalities drawn from Nollywood, Fuji music and other sections of the creative industry.
Other names on the list include Adebayo Salami, Saheed Balogun, Bukky Wright, Fathia Balogun, Yinka Quadri, Tayo Sobola, Malaika, Osupa and Small Doctor.
The campaign council was scheduled for inauguration on Friday, September 18, at the APC Secretariat on ACME Road, Ikeja.
However, one of the entertainers initially listed, Toyin Abraham-Ajeyemi, subsequently distanced herself from the campaign council.
Abraham said she had not joined the campaign council and asked members of the public to disregard reports suggesting that she had accepted a political role.
Her clarification came a day after the APC released the list containing her name.
The development highlights the growing role of Nigeria’s entertainment industry in political mobilisation and public communication, particularly during election periods.
Political parties have increasingly engaged entertainers and other public personalities as campaign participants, recognising their reach across social media, popular culture and different demographic groups.
For the Lagos APC, the inclusion of creative industry figures forms part of its broader campaign structure ahead of the 2027 elections.
The council brings together politicians, professionals and representatives of different sectors as the party prepares its campaign machinery in Lagos.
