Gross revenue generated by the Federation Account Allocation Committee FACC, reached 31.46 trillion naira between January and September 2026, surpassing full-year receipts recorded in four of the previous five years.
A policy report released on Wednesday by Agora Policy, titled Ten Insights from FAAC Disbursements for January–September 2026, detailed that the nine-month total has exceeded full-year collections for 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024.
The figure represents 88 per cent of the 35.81 trillion naira collected throughout the entirety of 2025.
According to the analysis, statutory revenue accounted for 24.25 trillion naira, or 77.1 per cent of gross receipts, while Value Added Tax contributed 7.21 trillion naira, or 22.9 per cent.

From the total gross revenue, 20.36 trillion naira was cleared for distribution across the three tiers of government prior to a 450 billion naira augmentation, bringing total distributions to 20.81 trillion naira. Deductions for statutory savings, interventions, transfers, refunds, and collection costs totaled 11.10 trillion naira, representing 35 per cent of gross receipts.
During the nine-month period, the Federal Government received 7.35 trillion naira, state governments were allocated 7.01 trillion naira, and local government councils received 4.92 trillion naira. Additionally, oil-producing states received 1.53 trillion naira under the 13 per cent derivation principle.
The report highlighted that while nominal revenue expanded by 12.6 per cent compared to the 27.95 trillion naira generated during the corresponding period in 2025, revenue growth is slowing.
Agora Policy emphasized that the figures reflect nominal values affected by post-2023 foreign exchange and subsidy adjustments, warning that mineral revenues remain behind budgetary projections and subject to international oil market volatility.
