Former Italy international and 2007 UEFA Champions League winner Marco Borriello has identified Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen as a target for Juventus as the Bianconeri search for a elite center-forward.

Speaking to Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport, the former Juventus and AC Milan striker emphasized that Juventus must sign an elite goalscorer to remain competitive alongside domestic rivals Inter Milan and AC Milan.

“I want a great number nine. Osimhen? Maybe. He’s strong, he knows Serie A and Spalletti. But beyond Osimhen, we need a top-level striker,” Borriello stated.

Osimhen established himself among Europe’s premier strikers during his four-year tenure at Napoli, scoring 76 goals and providing 18 assists in 133 appearances. His 26 league goals in the 2022/23 season proved decisive as Napoli claimed their first Scudetto in 33 years under current Italy manager Luciano Spalletti.

The 27-year-old Nigerian international has maintained his form at Galatasaray during the 2026/27 season, registering nine goals and three assists in nine matches.

However, any potential move back to Italian football faces legal and financial hurdles. Under terms structured during his transfer to Istanbul, Galatasaray would be required to pay Napoli a significant financial penalty if Osimhen is sold to a Serie A competitor before the close of the summer 2027 transfer window.
