Fresh speculation about a possible reconciliation between Nigerian music star Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, and his former wife, Annie Idibia, has surfaced after an old video showing the pair in an affectionate moment went viral on social media.

The video triggered widespread reactions from fans who interpreted the footage as evidence that the former couple may have rekindled their relationship.

However, both 2Baba and Annie have dismissed the suggestion, making it clear that the footage being circulated is not recent.

Annie addressed the speculation through her Instagram Story, describing the circulating material as old and the reports surrounding it as false.

2Baba also reacted to the renewed speculation, reportedly clarifying that the video was an old clip and should not be interpreted as evidence of a reunion.

The development has nevertheless generated significant conversation among fans of the former couple, many of whom have followed their relationship since they married in 2012.

The pair share two daughters, Isabella and Olivia.

Their marriage came to an end after 2Baba publicly announced their separation in January 2025. Annie later confirmed the separation, while 2Baba subsequently moved on with Edo State lawmaker Natasha Osawaru.

The resurfacing of the old video has therefore revived interest in the couple’s highly publicised relationship, despite the absence of any fresh confirmation that they are back together.

The episode also highlights the speed with which old celebrity content can regain traction on social media, where archived videos can easily be mistaken for recent events.

The viral clip showed the former couple dancing closely at a social gathering, prompting some social media users to conclude that they had reconciled.

However, reports published after the video gained attention established that the footage was old.

Annie’s response was particularly direct, warning followers against accepting everything circulating online as current information.

While fans have continued to speculate about the possibility of a reunion, there is currently no verified announcement from either party confirming a reconciliation.

For now, the viral video appears to have reopened an old conversation rather than provided evidence of a new chapter in the relationship.
