The apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has endorsed Peter Mbah for a second term in 2027 while commending the policies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In a communiqué issued after a leadership meeting, Ohanaeze praised Mbah’s governance style, highlighting progress in infrastructure, education reform, and economic development in Enugu State. The group described his administration as “vision-driven” and aligned with regional aspirations.

The organization also expressed support for Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, noting that federal initiatives in economic reform and infrastructure are beginning to yield positive outcomes across the country.

Ohanaeze leaders urged continued collaboration between federal and state governments to accelerate development in the South-East, particularly in areas of security, industrialization, and youth employment.

Political analysts view the endorsement as significant, given Ohanaeze’s influence in shaping public opinion in the region. While the group does not directly determine electoral outcomes, its backing often carries symbolic and strategic weight.

Mbah’s administration has prioritized investments in technology-driven education and urban renewal projects, which the group says position Enugu as a regional hub for innovation and commerce.

However, the endorsement has drawn mixed reactions from opposition voices, who argue that more needs to be done in addressing economic challenges and security concerns.

As 2027 approaches, regional endorsements such as this are expected to play a role in building alliances and influencing political narratives, particularly in a diverse and competitive electoral environment.
