FIFA has clarified that no venue has yet been selected to host the final of the 2030 FIFA World Cup, putting an end to speculation over where the tournament’s showpiece match will be played.
The 2030 World Cup will be hosted principally by Morocco, Portugal and Spain, while commemorative centenary matches are scheduled to take place in Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay.
FIFA said the decision on the venue for the final has not been made, meaning reports identifying a specific stadium as the confirmed location of the championship match are premature.
The clarification is significant because several venues across the three main host countries have been linked with the final as preparations for the tournament gather momentum.

Among the countries preparing to stage matches, Spain and Morocco have been particularly prominent in discussions over potential locations for the final.
However, FIFA’s position indicates that the governing body has yet to formally designate the stadium that will host the decisive match.
The 2030 tournament will mark 100 years since the first FIFA World Cup was staged in Uruguay in 1930.
To commemorate the centenary, FIFA approved the hosting of one match each in Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay before the competition continues across Morocco, Portugal and Spain.
The main tournament is expected to involve extensive coordination among the three host nations, including stadium readiness, transportation, accommodation, security and other infrastructure requirements.
The choice of the final venue is expected to be closely watched because hosting the championship match carries significant international visibility and economic implications for the selected city.
Stadium capacity, infrastructure, accessibility, hospitality facilities and broadcast requirements are among the factors likely to influence the eventual decision.
FIFA’s clarification means that any claims presenting a particular stadium as the confirmed venue for the 2030 final should not be treated as an official decision.
The governing body is expected to announce the final venue when the relevant selection process has been completed.
Until then, attention remains focused on preparations by Spain, Portugal and Morocco to deliver the first three-continent World Cup, with the centenary fixtures adding a historic dimension to the tournament.
