The Minister of Defence  Christopher Musa, has warned that the military will take decisive action against individuals collaborating with terrorist groups, stressing that such acts will not be tolerated under any circumstances. He issued the warning during a high-level security briefing, amid ongoing operations against insurgency and banditry across Nigeria.

Musa said intelligence reports indicate that some individuals provide logistical support, information, and shelter to criminal elements, thereby undermining national security efforts. He vowed that the armed forces would intensify surveillance and operations to identify and prosecute such collaborators.

The Minister of Defence called on citizens to support security agencies by providing credible and timely information. He emphasized that community cooperation remains critical in tackling insecurity and dismantling criminal networks.

According to him, the military has recorded significant progress in recent operations, including the neutralization of several leaders and the rescue of kidnapped victims. However, he noted that the fight against insecurity requires sustained effort and collective responsibility.

Security experts have backed the warning, noting that internal collaboration often strengthens insurgent groups and prolongs conflict. They stressed the need for stricter enforcement and improved intelligence gathering.

Musa also reassured Nigerians of the military’s commitment to protecting lives and property, adding that troops remain motivated and equipped to confront emerging threats.

The renewed warning comes as the government continues to explore both kinetic and non-kinetic strategies to address security challenges nationwide, with a focus on restoring peace in affected regions.
