The Ogun State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has commenced a special enforcement exercise aimed at curbing the use of fake and unauthorised number plates, as well as tackling vehicle overloading and unsafe haulage practices across the state.
The operation, named “Operation Guduma,” is a strategic patrol initiative designed to reduce road crashes and improve compliance with traffic regulations nationwide.
According to the FRSC spokesperson, Afolabi Odunsi, enforcement teams deployed under the operation will monitor and prosecute offenders involved in the use of fake diplomatic plates, overloading, mixed loading, and the transportation of unsecured containers.
The exercise is being carried out under directives from the Corps Headquarters and is supervised by Assistant Corps Marshal (ACM) JO Asaolu, who was appointed by the Corps Marshal to oversee the intervention.
Odunsi explained that the operation is being implemented in collaboration with the Ogun State Sector Command (RS2.2), led by Corps Commander Oludare Ogunjobi.
