Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to attracting investment and expanding economic opportunities, saying the state’s business-friendly policies continue to draw major investors and strengthen commercial activities.
The governor spoke on Thursday during the commissioning of Premium Trust Bank’s Regional Office in Owerri, describing the new facility as another milestone in Imo’s drive to position itself as a preferred destination for investment in Nigeria.
Uzodimma said the establishment of the regional office reinforces growing investor confidence in the state and adds to the increasing number of financial institutions choosing Imo as a strategic base for operations.
According to him, the state has sustained its commitment to creating an enabling environment where government, the private sector and Public-Private Partnerships can thrive, resulting in steady growth across key sectors of the economy.
He said the administration’s vision of making Imo a hub where “investment meets opportunities” has continued to deliver measurable outcomes through deliberate economic reforms and infrastructure development.
The governor attributed the growing interest from investors to the momentum generated by the 2025 Imo Economic and Investment Summit, which he said has opened new channels for domestic and foreign investments.
He noted that the summit showcased the state’s economic potential and strengthened partnerships with businesses seeking to establish operations in Imo.
Uzodimma assured existing and prospective investors that his administration would continue to implement policies that encourage enterprise, improve the ease of doing business and protect investments.
He also highlighted the role of the state’s Skill-Up Imo programme in producing a workforce equipped with digital and technical skills needed to support expanding industries and modern businesses.
According to the governor, the availability of skilled manpower gives investors confidence that they can find competent workers locally while contributing to job creation and economic growth.
He described the arrival of Premium Trust Bank’s regional office as a significant boost to financial services in the state, saying the institution would deepen access to banking, facilitate business transactions and support entrepreneurs.

Uzodimma added that stronger financial institutions are critical to stimulating commerce, expanding credit opportunities for businesses and accelerating the state’s economic transformation agenda.
He reiterated the government’s readiness to partner with the private sector in unlocking investment opportunities across agriculture, manufacturing, technology, infrastructure and other productive sectors.
The governor urged more investors to take advantage of the state’s improving business climate, assuring them of sustained government support through transparent policies and strategic partnerships.
The commissioning of Premium Trust Bank’s Regional Office marks another step in Imo State’s efforts to strengthen its financial sector, attract new investments and consolidate its position as one of Nigeria’s emerging investment destinations.
