Governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have reaffirmed their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election, pledging to lead the campaign and mobilise voters across their respective states.
The commitment was disclosed by the Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, after the APC governors met with President Tinubu at the State House, Abuja, on Thursday.
Uzodinma said the meeting focused on governance and political issues, with particular attention given to efforts to reduce the cost of living and ensure that Nigerians benefit from the Federal Government’s ongoing economic reforms.
According to him, the governors remain committed to working with the President to strengthen the impact of the reforms at the state level and improve the welfare of citizens.
He said the political discussions also reflected the governors’ determination to support Tinubu’s administration and ensure that the President receives the necessary backing ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The Progressive Governors’ Forum has remained a key platform for coordinating APC governors and aligning their positions on national policies and political matters.
The governors’ renewed endorsement comes as political activities ahead of the 2027 elections gradually intensify, with parties and political actors positioning themselves for the contest.
Uzodinma said the governors would continue to mobilise support for the President in their respective states while also focusing on governance and measures capable of easing economic pressures on Nigerians.
The meeting therefore combined political strategy with governance priorities, as the APC governors pledged to sustain their support for the Tinubu administration and work towards delivering its policies to citizens.
