The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially launched its campaign machinery for the August 15 Osun State governorship election, with party leaders unveiling strategies focused on grassroots mobilisation, operational planning and voter engagement to secure victory for its candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO.

The party took the decision on Monday during the inaugural meeting of its National Campaign Council and various sub-committees held in Abuja.

The meeting was chaired by Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, who heads the National Campaign Council, while the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, served as secretary.

The gathering brought together senior party officials, campaign coordinators and members of the various committees responsible for planning activities ahead of the governorship poll.

Leaders at the meeting stressed the importance of maintaining a united front as the campaign enters its most critical stage, urging members to intensify voter engagement while promoting the party’s manifesto and development agenda.

The campaign council expressed confidence in Oyebamiji’s candidacy, describing him as a credible and experienced leader capable of delivering good governance and accelerating development across Osun State.

Party officials noted that the campaign would focus on direct interactions with residents through town hall meetings, community visits and other grassroots activities intended to strengthen support ahead of election day.

They also called on party faithful to remain peaceful, law-abiding and committed to issue-based campaigns throughout the electoral process.

The council reiterated the APC’s commitment to conducting a vigorous but responsible campaign that complies with electoral guidelines while encouraging broad participation by party members and supporters.

With less than two weeks to the governorship election, political activities have intensified across Osun State as parties step up efforts to persuade voters.

The APC leadership said the National Campaign Council would continue meeting regularly to review progress, monitor campaign activities and address emerging challenges before the August 15 poll.

The party expressed optimism that its coordinated mobilisation strategy, combined with sustained grassroots engagement and unity among members, would position AMBO strongly in the race to succeed the state’s current administration.
