The Federal Government will on Saturday commence a five-day media inspection tour of key projects in the South-East, as part of efforts to showcase achievements under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

The initiative, organised by the Renewed Hope Ambassadors in collaboration with the Presidential Media Team, will begin in Ebonyi State on June 13 and conclude in Imo State on June 17, 2026.

According to a statement signed by Tunde Rahman, Director of Media and Publicity for the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, the tour will bring together over 50 editors and journalists from across the country to assess ongoing and completed projects in the region.

The exercise will cover all five South-East states—Ebonyi, Enugu, Anambra, Abia, and Imo—and is designed to provide firsthand insight into the administration’s development efforts under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Rahman said the tour will feature project inspections, stakeholder engagements, media interactions, and strategic discussions focused on national development.

He described the initiative as a platform to promote factual reporting and strengthen the relationship between the government and the media, while giving Nigerians direct access to information on the impact of federal policies and programmes.

“The tour remains a unique platform for promoting factual reporting, strengthening government-media relations, and providing Nigerians with firsthand information on the impact of policies and programmes,” the statement said.

The South-East edition follows a similar exercise previously conducted in the North-West, where more than 70 editors and government officials inspected major infrastructure projects.

Projects reviewed during the North-West tour included the Kaduna-Kano-Katsina-Maradi railway, sections of the Sokoto-Badagry highway in Kebbi, the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano highway, the Kaduna Western Bypass, irrigation schemes in Jigawa, and ecological interventions in parts of Kano State.

The government said the ongoing nationwide media tours are part of broader efforts to ensure transparency, accountability, and public awareness of its development initiatives.
