The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has conducted a week-long strategic leadership training programme for 305 senior officers as part of efforts to strengthen road transport safety operations and improve overall efficiency across Nigeria’s highways.
The training, which involved Chief Route Commanders and Assistant Corps Commanders from different formations nationwide, was aimed at improving leadership capacity and enhancing coordination in traffic management and enforcement duties.
It is part of the corps’ ongoing institutional reform to modernise road safety administration and improve operational performance across commands.
According to the FRSC leadership, the programme was designed to equip senior officers with essential skills such as adaptive leadership, emotional intelligence, operational planning, and effective public communication.
The corps noted that these skills are necessary to address increasing traffic challenges and the growing complexity of road transport management in the country.
The agency explained that senior officers play a key role in linking policy direction with field operations, making leadership development critical to improving service delivery on the highways.
