The Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Public Communication, Sunday Dare, has organised a grassroots mobilisation rally and empowerment programme in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, as part of efforts to rally support for the President’s re-election bid ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The programme, held on Thursday, attracted prominent political figures, APC leaders, supporters and residents from across the Ogbomoso zone. It featured the distribution of food items and empowerment equipment, as well as the opening of new classrooms in two secondary schools in the area.

As part of the intervention, the organisers distributed more than 1,000 bags of foodstuffs containing spaghetti, semovita and other food items to residents.

The empowerment items included generators for vulcanizers, grinding machines and sewing machines to selected beneficiaries to support their livelihoods and economic activities.

In the education sector, the programme witnessed the opening of a block of 3 classrooms at Maryland Primary School inside Ogbomoso Girl’s High School, in a move aimed at improving learning facilities for students.

Among the dignitaries at the rally were former Oyo State Deputy Governor, Engr. Rauf Olaniyan; Hon. Olusegun Odebunmi; Senator Yusuf Brimmo; Hon. Olamijuwa Alao-Akala; and the APC senatorial candidate for Oyo North, Mrs Hannah Ogunesan, among other party chieftains.

Addressing the gathering, Dare urged eligible voters to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and participate actively in the electoral process, calling on them to support President Tinubu, Senator Sharafadeen Alli and other APC candidates in the 2027 elections.

He also highlighted the Federal Government’s ongoing infrastructure projects and policy reforms, particularly the Ibadan–Ogbomoso road project, which he cited as one of the initiatives being undertaken under the Tinubu administration.

Other speakers called for unity among APC members and urged party supporters to strengthen their grassroots mobilisation efforts ahead of the next general elections. They maintained that continued support for the party would provide an opportunity to consolidate the administration’s ongoing reforms.

Dare also commended APC leaders and members in Oyo State for their contributions to the party’s growth and development, urging them to sustain their engagement with residents across the state.

The event combined political mobilisation with food distribution, livelihood support and educational infrastructure interventions, bringing together party activities and community-focused initiatives ahead of the 2027 electoral cycle.
