First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has unveiled a grassroots mobilisation strategy aimed at strengthening the participation of women in the All Progressives Congress ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Tinubu urged women in the APC to build a strong grassroots structure capable of mobilising voters and strengthening the party’s presence across communities ahead of the elections.
The First Lady emphasised the importance of organisation, unity and effective coordination among APC women as the party prepares for another major electoral contest.
She encouraged women to take their political participation beyond conventional campaign activities and become more actively involved in grassroots engagement, community mobilisation and voter outreach.
According to her, women remain a critical component of the electorate and have the capacity to play a decisive role in determining electoral outcomes.
The mobilisation strategy is expected to focus on strengthening networks of APC women across wards, local government areas and states.

Tinubu also stressed the importance of maintaining unity within the women’s wing of the party and ensuring that members work towards common objectives.
The initiative comes as political parties gradually begin positioning themselves ahead of the 2027 elections, with grassroots structures expected to play a major role in determining the strength of political organisations.
For the APC, consolidating its support base among women could prove significant, given the size and influence of women within Nigeria’s voting population.
The First Lady urged APC women to remain committed to the party and work closely with grassroots communities.
She also encouraged them to promote the policies and programmes of the Tinubu administration while engaging directly with citizens.
Political mobilisation at the grassroots level traditionally involves building relationships with community leaders, youth groups, women’s organisations and other local stakeholders.
The First Lady’s initiative is expected to encourage greater coordination of these activities ahead of the 2027 polls.
The APC is expected to face competition from opposition parties seeking to expand their own grassroots structures and challenge the ruling party’s dominance in several parts of the country.
Tinubu’s call for stronger mobilisation therefore comes at a time when political activities are gradually intensifying ahead of the next general elections.
The First Lady has previously advocated greater involvement of women in governance and political processes.
With 2027 approaching, the latest initiative signals the growing importance the ruling party is placing on women as a major component of its electoral strategy.
She urged the women to remain organised, focused and committed to building a stronger APC presence from the grassroots.
