The Federal Government has called on citizens, businesses, and key industry stakeholders to submit proposals to guide the drafting of the upcoming Finance Bill 2027.
The Federal Ministry of Finance issued the public invitation on Friday across its official communication channels. The ministry requested contributions from individual citizens, investors, civil society organizations, academia, and professional bodies to shape upcoming fiscal reforms.
Official notices state that the initiative aims to strengthen Nigeria’s fiscal management framework and build a more competitive business climate to drive long-term economic growth.
“The Federal Government invites members of the public, businesses, investors, professional bodies, civil society organisations, academia, public institutions and other stakeholders to submit proposals for the Finance Bill 2027,” the ministry said.
According to the announcement, stakeholder contributions should work to “strengthen Nigeria’s fiscal framework, improve the business and investment environment, enhance fiscal transparency and accountability, and support sustainable economic growth.”
The government outlined five focal areas for public submissions: taxation and revenue administration, fiscal policy management, fiscal responsibility and transparency, financial regulation, and related economic matters.

Officials emphasized that proposals should address operational challenges in current legislation while minimizing unnecessary administrative friction for private businesses. Contributions should aim to boost revenue mobilization “without unnecessarily constraining economic activity.”
The ministry encouraged contributors to provide specific legal references and draft language where possible, noting that “general recommendations are also welcome but may be less useful for legislative drafting.”
Stakeholders can send submissions to financebill2027@fmf.gov.ng until the deadline on Friday, September 11, 2026.
“The Federal Government values stakeholders’ contributions and encourages the submission of clear, practical and implementable proposals capable of delivering measurable improvements in Nigeria’s fiscal and economic outcomes,” the ministry stated.
