Burna Boy

Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Burna Boy is set to take Nigerian music to one of Europe’s biggest sporting stages when he headlines the halftime show of the 2026 NFL Paris Game.

The singer will perform on October 25 at Stade de France in Saint-Denis, Paris, during the National Football League’s first regular-season game to be played in France.

The game will feature the Pittsburgh Steelers against the New Orleans Saints, with kickoff scheduled for 2:30 p.m. CEST.

Burna Boy’s performance will form part of the NFL’s growing international programme, which is taking regular-season American football games to audiences outside the United States.

The Paris halftime show is one of seven performances planned as part of the NFL’s 2026 International Games programme.

The full performance will be broadcast live in France by France Télévisions and beIN Sports, giving the Nigerian Afrobeats star another major international platform to showcase his music.

Burna Boy, whose global profile has grown significantly over the past decade, has become one of the leading Nigerian artists to break into major international music and entertainment markets.

His selection for the Paris halftime show further places Afrobeats at the centre of a global sporting spectacle, as the NFL expands its audience across Europe and other international markets.

The performance will also bring together two of the world’s rapidly expanding entertainment markets global sports and African music at one of France’s most recognisable sporting venues.

Stade de France, located in the Paris suburb of Saint-Denis, has hosted major international sporting and entertainment events, including the 1998 FIFA World Cup final and the 2024 Olympic Games.

For the NFL, the Paris fixture represents another step in its international expansion strategy, while Burna Boy’s appearance provides a major cultural component to the league’s debut regular-season game in France.

The Pittsburgh Steelers and New Orleans Saints will be competing for the regular-season result on the field, while the halftime performance is expected to provide a separate entertainment highlight for spectators at the stadium and viewers watching internationally.

Burna Boy’s appearance also comes as Nigerian and African music continues to gain visibility on major global platforms, with international festivals, award ceremonies and sporting events increasingly featuring African performers.

The October 25 performance is therefore expected to attract attention beyond traditional American football audiences, particularly among Afrobeats listeners and Nigerian fans following the singer’s international career.

With the Steelers and Saints set to make history as participants in the NFL’s first regular-season game in France, Burna Boy will have the opportunity to add a distinctly Nigerian musical identity to the landmark Paris fixture.
