The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has described the Tinubu-Shettima presidential ticket as one of the most formidable political combinations in Nigeria’s democratic history, urging Nigerians to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
Yilwatda made the declaration on Saturday at the Rainbow Coalition Presidential Campaign Rally held at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, where Tinubu was received by APC supporters, political stakeholders and coalition members from across the state and the South-South region.
The APC chairman said Tinubu deserved another term to consolidate the economic reforms and infrastructure projects initiated by his administration, describing the President as a courageous leader willing to make difficult decisions in the national interest.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Information Strategy, Abimbola Tooki, Yilwatda said the combination of Tinubu’s political experience and Vice President Kashim Shettima’s leadership capacity made the ticket particularly strong.

“The most formidable presidential ticket we have ever produced in Nigeria is the Tinubu-Shettima ticket. We have a candidate in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu who is fearless, courageous and determined to confront the challenges of our country,” he said.
He argued that the President inherited significant economic and fiscal challenges, including unsustainable fuel subsidy expenditure, revenue constraints and mounting government obligations.
According to him, the removal of the petrol subsidy, foreign exchange market reforms and other economic policy adjustments were necessary steps towards strengthening public finances and establishing a sustainable foundation for economic growth.
Although acknowledging that the reforms had created difficulties for households and businesses, Yilwatda maintained that the administration was implementing measures to address their effects through economic stabilisation programmes, social interventions and infrastructure investments.
The APC chairman also highlighted the Federal Government’s infrastructure programme, particularly major highway projects designed to improve connectivity, facilitate trade and open new economic opportunities across the country.
He said the projects would support agriculture, commerce, industrialisation and tourism while strengthening national integration.
On the political situation in Rivers State, Yilwatda commended the Rainbow Coalition and other political stakeholders for supporting Tinubu’s second-term ambition, describing the emerging alliance as evidence of cooperation beyond traditional party boundaries.
He specifically acknowledged the mobilisation efforts of Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike and other political leaders.
Yilwatda expressed confidence that Rivers State would deliver substantial electoral support for Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
“Come 2027, we want to continue with this reformer and performer as our President. That is why the coalition and the people of Rivers State, irrespective of political party, have decided to work together for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he said.
The APC chairman urged Nigerians to sustain support for the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, arguing that another term would provide an opportunity to consolidate ongoing reforms and infrastructure development.
