Recently evicted Big Brother Naija Season 11 housemate Gerard has thrown his support behind Aikou, naming him as his preferred contestant to win the reality television show.

Gerard, speaking after his eviction, said Aikou remains his favourite among the housemates because he likes him as a person.

The former housemate’s endorsement adds to the growing conversation among viewers and former contestants over who has the strongest chances of emerging as the winner of the current season.

Gerard said his support for Aikou was based largely on his personal connection with the housemate rather than simply his performance in the competition.

The endorsement comes shortly after Gerard’s exit from the reality show, where contestants compete for the ultimate prize while living together under continuous observation.

His departure has reduced the number of contestants competing for the title, while the remaining housemates continue to navigate nominations, tasks, relationships and audience voting.

Aikou’s position in the competition is expected to come under greater scrutiny as the season progresses, particularly with former housemates beginning to publicly identify their preferred finalists.

Gerard’s comments could also influence discussions among fans, who frequently look to the views of evicted housemates for insights into the personalities and relationships that developed inside the house.

Big Brother Naija has traditionally generated strong public engagement beyond the television show, with contestants attracting substantial followings across social media during and after their participation.

The reality show’s voting system also makes audience support a critical factor in determining which contestants remain in the competition and who ultimately wins.

Gerard’s endorsement therefore provides Aikou with another public show of support as the competition moves towards its decisive stages.

The former housemate also used his post-eviction appearance to reflect on his experience in the house and his relationship with fellow contestants.

For fans of the show, attention will now shift to how Aikou and the other remaining housemates perform in the coming weeks as they compete for the season’s ultimate prize.

The winner will ultimately be determined through the programme’s established voting and finale process.
