Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, Abdulaziz Yari, has declared that Northern Nigeria is “101 per cent” behind President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid, expressing confidence that the ruling party will win the January 16, 2027 presidential election.
Yari made the declaration on Saturday at the APC presidential campaign flag-off at Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna, where Tinubu, Vice-President Kashim Shettima, governors and other party leaders gathered to mobilise support for the President.
“Mr President, I want you to listen to us carefully. Northern Nigeria is 101 per cent, by God’s grace, for you, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Yari said.
The former Zamfara State governor said the APC would campaign on the Tinubu administration’s record in infrastructure, economic reforms, healthcare, education and human capital development.
He urged Nigerians to assess the government based on its policies and achievements rather than what he described as false information circulated by opposition parties, including content allegedly generated using artificial intelligence.
Yari’s declaration underscores the importance the ruling party places on Northern Nigeria, a region with significant electoral influence, as preparations intensify for the 2027 general elections.
The APC campaign director-general expressed confidence that the party’s political organisation, experience and mobilisation capacity would help secure another mandate for Tinubu.
He also urged party members and supporters to remain united and actively communicate the administration’s programmes to voters across the country.
The Kaduna rally brought together prominent APC figures as the party sought to demonstrate its strength and consolidate support in the North ahead of the presidential election.
Vice-President Shettima, who also addressed the gathering, urged voters to support continuity, citing Tinubu’s political alliances with Northern leaders and his support for former President Muhammadu Buhari in previous elections.
Shettima argued that such relationships reflected a history of political cooperation and national unity.
The rally also provided an opportunity for the ruling party to highlight infrastructure projects and other interventions undertaken by the Tinubu administration, including work on the Abuja-Kaduna highway.

Yari’s remarks came amid an increasingly competitive political environment, with opposition parties seeking to challenge the APC’s hold on power and raise concerns about the impact of government policies.
Although the campaign director-general expressed certainty about Northern support, his claim represents the APC’s political assessment rather than an independently established measure of voter intentions across the region.
Actual electoral support will be determined by voters at the polls.
The APC is expected to intensify its mobilisation efforts in the months ahead as the major political parties prepare to present their candidates, policies and records to Nigerians before the 2027 presidential election.
Yari maintained that the ruling party would rely on its achievements and grassroots organisation to secure victory.
