The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has called for greater unity among Nigerians, emphasising that national cohesion is the foundation for peace, progress, and prosperity. She made the appeal during her homecoming to Warri Kingdom in Delta State, where she was warmly received by the Ogiame Atuwatse III, the paramount ruler of the Kingdom.
Speaking to a large crowd of residents, the First Lady urged the people of Warri Kingdom to set aside differences and work together for collective development. “The Bible tells us in Psalm 133 verses 1 to 3 that it is pleasant to dwell together in unity, for there is where God commands blessings,” she said.
Senator Tinubu also reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting local initiatives, highlighting the achievements of Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and assuring citizens of continued backing. In a show of support for women in business, she donated ₦50 million through the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) to empower 1,000 women petty traders in the state.
Governor Oborevwori praised the First Lady’s longstanding engagement in Delta State, noting that her multiple visits—both before and after his political realignment—demonstrated her sincerity and dedication to improving the lives of Nigerians. “She has a large heart, and her initiatives such as women petty trader empowerment and the Free to Shine campaign inspired me to continue supporting her efforts. May God continue to empower her to put smiles on the faces of more Nigerians,” the governor said.

Thank you for being a very good example to our girls and women,” he added, praising her as a role model.
Senator Tinubu, whose mother hails from Warri, expressed gratitude for the honour and reaffirmed her commitment to the people of the Kingdom, noting that the recognition strengthens her resolve to continue promoting social inclusion, empowerment, and national unity.
The event highlighted the growing emphasis on cultural recognition, women’s empowerment, and civic engagement under the First Lady’s leadership, positioning her as a unifying figure in both Delta State and across Nigeria.
