Former Super Eagles captain and football legend, Sunday Oliseh, has tipped Arsenal to lift the UEFA Champions League trophy this season, stating that the North London club currently looks more formidable than ever under the guidance of Mikel Arteta.
Speaking on his football analysis programme, Sunday Oliseh’s Global Football Insights, the former midfielder highlighted the tactical supremacy and impressive defensive stability of the Gunners as key factors that set them apart from the rest of the competition. He emphasized that the team’s current form makes them the prime candidates for European glory.
“This Arsenal team is exceptional. They are very solid, they are strong, and that is one very clear reason why they are dominating the way they are dominating in the Champions League,” Oliseh remarked during the show.
The statistics from the current campaign strongly support Oliseh’s confident assertion. Arsenal recently cruised through the group stages with an unblemished record, winning all eight of their matches; a feat unmatched by any other club in the competition this season.

Their dominance was absolute, as they led the tournament with a staggering 23 goals scored while maintaining the tightest defense, conceding a mere four times.
This newfound defensive solidity, paired with the invaluable experience the squad gained during their run to the semi-finals last year, has fueled Oliseh’s belief that Arsenal is better equipped for a deep run now than they were during the previous term.
“In fact, I think they have a better chance of winning the Champions League this year than they did last year,” the Nigerian football icon added.
Beyond their European ambitions, Arteta’s men are enjoying a spectacular domestic season. They currently sit at the top of the Premier League standings and remain active in the hunt for both the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup, putting them on course to potentially chase a historic quadruple.
