That unexpected loss placed significant pressure on the club’s continental ambitions, especially with only five match weeks remaining in the current campaign.
In the wake of the setback, Mangut met with the club’s management to reaffirm the team’s unwavering focus on securing a continental ticket, while refusing to rule out a late surge for the NPFL championship trophy.
The head coach assured fans that the squad has summoned the historic resilience associated with the club to overcome their recent hurdles.
“The time for reckoning is upon us; we will rise to the occasion and ensure that the remaining part of our campaign concludes on a note of dignity and competitiveness,” Mangut stated.
He further emphasized that the team is working relentlessly behind the scenes to correct the issues that led to their recent stumble.
The coach made it clear that the players are regrouping and recommitting themselves to their ultimate goal.
Mangut firmly rejected the notion that the recent loss to Kun Khalifat would dictate the outcome of their season.
He noted that the squad is prepared to fight back and emerge stronger in their remaining five fixtures. Today’s crucial clash against El-Kanemi Warriors will serve as a pivotal test for Nasarawa United as they attempt to get their continental aspirations back on track.
