President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday disclosed that he is presiding over an extended high-level security meeting with the nation’s top defence and intelligence chiefs as the government intensifies efforts to stabilise security-threatened areas across the country.
The meeting, taking place at the State House in Abuja, includes the Chief of Defence Staff, Chief of Army Staff, Inspector-General of Police, and the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS). According to the President, the session is focused on reviewing the latest security reports and approving urgent measures to protect citizens.
Tinubu said he has issued fresh directives to security agencies to respond with “speed, precision, and absolute resolve” as part of a broader push to restore peace and security in regions affected by recent attacks and kidnappings. The President emphasised that he is receiving continuous frontline briefings and is coordinating efforts personally to ensure effectiveness.
“We are reviewing the latest reports and taking decisive actions to stabilise the affected areas and protect our citizens,” he said. “I have directed our security services to move with speed, precision, and absolute resolve.”
