Vice President Kashim Shettima

Vice President Kashim Shettima has highlighted marital unions as essential pillars for Nigeria’s social cohesion and long-term development, describing them as more than personal milestones but as institutions that shape national values.

Speaking on Sunday at the wedding of Miss Deborah Ershima and Mr. Samuel Aondoakur, son of SGF Senator George Akume, VP Shettima, representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, emphasized that strong families contribute directly to national stability and progress.

“A home is not built by vows alone. It is built by everyday choices: kindness, forgiveness, and mutual support,” he said, urging society to support married couples with counsel and goodwill. He prayed for the couple’s unity, respect, and enduring companionship.

SGF Akume commended President Tinubu’s leadership since May 2023, while Governor Hyacinth Alia congratulated the couple and pledged continued support. Other dignitaries in attendance included ministers, lawmakers, and senior government officials.
