President Bola Tinubu has strongly condemned the latest wave of killings in parts of the country, vowing that perpetrators will be tracked down and brought to justice.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the President described the attacks as “barbaric and unacceptable,” directing security agencies to intensify efforts to apprehend those responsible. He assured Nigerians that the Federal Government would not tolerate acts of violence that threaten national unity and public safety.
The condemnation follows a deadly attack in Plateau State, where several residents were reportedly killed by gunmen. Tinubu expressed condolences to affected families and urged calm among citizens while security operations continue.
He further instructed the Nigerian Police Force and other security agencies to collaborate with intelligence units to identify and dismantle criminal networks behind the attacks. The President emphasized that freedom of movement and the protection of lives remain non-negotiable.
Tinubu also called on state governments and community leaders to support ongoing investigations and strengthen local security structures to prevent further violence.

Security analysts say the latest directive signals renewed federal commitment to tackling insecurity, particularly in volatile regions.
Residents in affected communities have called for increased deployment of security personnel, noting that sustained presence would help restore confidence and deter future attacks.
Authorities say investigations are ongoing, with assurances that those responsible will face the full weight of the law.
