NUGA OFFICIALS EXPRESS SATISFACTION ON FACILITIES FOR UNIJOS 25.

The pace and quality of work on facilities to host the 27th edition of Nigerian University Games Association (NUGA) events have been given a pass mark which signifies the readiness of University of Jos to host the Games.
Officials of NUGA gave the commendation during an inspection of facilities under construction for the games scheduled from November 6th to 18th 2025.
NUGA’s Chairman (Technical) Prof. Garba Yakasai said the facilities were about 90 per cent ready and was optimistic that the facilities would be ready for the games.
Accompanied by the association’s Secretary, Mr. Yunusa Bazza, the NUGA officials taken round the facilities by the Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Tanko Ishaya, commended the quality of work at the indoor sports hall, describing it as one of its kind in any university in Nigeria.
“We are very impressed by the quality of work; it is very solid and it will last a long time”, he said.

Speaking during an inspection of facilities under construction for the games, NUGA’s Chairman (Technical) Prof. Garba Yakasai said the facilities were about 90 per cent ready, expressing satisfaction with the pace and quality of work on the facilities.
“We are very impressed by the quality of work; it is very solid and it will last a long time”, he said.
Accompanied by the association’s Secretary, Mr. Yunusa Bazza, the NUGA officials were taken round the facilities by the Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Tanko Ishaya, who is the Chairman of the Local Organising Committee with the indoor sports hall as the first point of call which received commendation considering the quality of work and described as one of its kind in any university in Nigeria.
The Vice Chancellor explained that the university is providing world-class facilities for the games in her desire to make NUGA25 the best organised in history.
According to him, “we desire to make NUGA 2025 go down in history, not just in terms of organization, but also for the long-term benefits for sports, the economy and tourism development in the country.”
Other members of the LOC who conducted the team round for the inspection of facilities include a former Director General of the National Sports Commission, HRH Alhassan Yakmut, Chairman of Sports Unijos, Prof. Ishaya Pam.
Over 10,000 athletes and officials are expected to participate in the game, which was last held in 2021 and hosted by the University of Lagos.
