As Nigeria joins the global community in observing World Interfaith Harmony Week 2026 from February 1 to 7, leaders and faith groups are calling for renewed commitment to peace, understanding, and cooperation across religious divides.
This year’s theme, “Celebrating Peace, Honoring Leaders – From Prayer to Action,” emphasizes translating shared values of love, compassion, respect, and service to humanity into tangible actions.
Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, has lent her support to the observance, encouraging Nigerians to use the week as an opportunity to foster dialogue, empathy, and collective action across faiths.
Faith leaders and organizations are organizing events nationwide, including interfaith dialogues, prayer sessions, and community service initiatives, to strengthen bonds between Nigeria’s diverse religious communities. Advocates stress that interfaith harmony goes beyond ceremonies, urging citizens to turn prayers into action to build a more peaceful and inclusive nation.
