The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has removed the names of David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) membership portal.

INEC officials said the action followed an internal update by the party, which reviewed its membership records and submitted revised details to the electoral body.

While the commission did not give extensive details, it noted that political parties are responsible for maintaining and updating their membership lists in line with regulatory guidelines.

The development has sparked speculation within political circles, with analysts questioning whether the move signals a shift in political alignment by the two prominent figures.

Neither Mark nor Aregbesola has publicly commented on the delisting as of the time of this report. However, close associates suggest the move may be linked to ongoing political realignments ahead of future elections.

The ADC has also remained silent on the matter, fueling further uncertainty about the reasons behind the decision.

Political observers note that both men have played significant roles in Nigeria’s political landscape and their next moves could influence party dynamics across the country.

INEC reiterated that its role is strictly administrative, emphasising that it does not interfere in internal party affairs beyond ensuring compliance with electoral laws.

The commission added that it will continue to update its records based on submissions from registered political parties.

As speculation continues, many are watching for official statements from the affected individuals or the ADC to clarify the situation and outline any future political plans.
