On World Hijab Day 2026, Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, has celebrated the choice, faith, and identity of Muslim women, emphasizing the role of the hijab as a symbol of dignity, obedience, strength, and worship.
This year’s theme, “Unity in Hijab,” highlights how diversity can serve as a source of national unity rather than division.
In her message, the First Lady urged Nigerians to embrace mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and solidarity across all cultures and beliefs. She noted that recognizing and honoring the traditions of Muslim women contributes to a stronger, more cohesive society.
