Dangote Petroleum Refinery has launched a nationwide toll-free hotline to enable Nigerians to report MRS filling stations selling Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) above the approved price of ₦739 per litre.
The company announced on Tuesday that the dedicated number, 0800 123 5264, is part of efforts to protect consumers and ensure compliance with agreed pricing across the MRS retail network supplied by the Dangote Refinery.
According to Dangote Petroleum, the initiative is aimed at promoting transparency, discouraging sharp practices and ensuring that the benefits of locally refined petroleum products are passed on to end users. Members of the public were encouraged to report any MRS outlet found selling PMS above the stipulated pump price.
The refinery said verified reports would be promptly investigated, adding that appropriate sanctions would be applied against defaulting stations in line with existing commercial agreements and regulatory guidelines.
Dangote Petroleum noted that the hotline would operate nationwide and serve as a direct feedback channel between consumers and the company, helping to strengthen monitoring of fuel distribution and retail pricing.

The company reiterated its commitment to supporting price stability in the downstream petroleum sector and complementing federal government efforts to improve fuel supply and affordability following the commencement of operations at the Dangote Refinery.
Industry observers say the move could help curb price inflation at retail outlets and enhance consumer confidence, especially amid heightened public sensitivity to fuel pricing.
Dangote Petroleum urged motorists to remain vigilant and cooperate by providing accurate details, including station location and time of purchase, when lodging complaints through the hotline.
The refinery assured Nigerians that it would continue to work with partners and regulators to ensure fair pricing and uninterrupted supply of petroleum products across the country.
