bomb threats

Operations at six Canadian airports have returned to normal following bomb threats that disrupted flights and caused widespread delays on Thursday morning, according to Nav Canada, the country’s air traffic control agency.

Nav Canada commended its employees and law enforcement for their rapid response, noting that while flights are resuming, some delays may still occur as operations return to full capacity.

“In the interest of security protocols, we cannot disclose the specific nature of the threat. However, we will continue to work closely with authorities as the investigation progresses,” the agency said in a statement posted to X at 11 a.m. ET.

The bomb threats prompted a temporary ground stop at the affected airports, forcing travelers to adjust plans as flights were grounded. Nav Canada said service is gradually resuming and urged passengers to check with airlines for updated schedules.

Authorities are continuing their investigation, working to ensure that all safety protocols are followed and that travelers and airport personnel remain secure.

The disruptions underscore ongoing concerns about airport security and the importance of swift coordination between air traffic control and law enforcement in responding to potential threats.

Travelers are advised to remain patient and monitor official channels for updates as normal operations continue to be restored across all affected airports.
