President Bola Ahmed Tinubu

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed gratitude to Nigerians for their goodwill messages, prayers and continued support as he marked his 74th birthday, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to overcoming national challenges and delivering a brighter future.

In a message addressed to citizens on Saturday, Tinubu said he was “filled with joy and gratitude” for the opportunity to serve the country, while appreciating individuals and groups who celebrated him through various platforms, including newspapers, radio and television.

The president also acknowledged the support of his wife, Oluremi Tinubu, and Vice President Kashim Shettima, thanking them for their kind words and encouragement.

Tinubu noted that, in keeping with his tradition of aligning personal celebrations with the national mood, he chose to observe his birthday in a low-key manner.

Reflecting on his administration’s reforms, the president admitted that the country has faced significant challenges since their implementation but maintained that the sacrifices made by Nigerians are beginning to yield results.

“I’m glad that our sacrifices have not been in vain as we can see some glittering light at the end of the tunnel,” he said, while acknowledging temporary setbacks linked to the ongoing global tensions in the Middle East.

He emphasized that the progress recorded so far is a collective achievement, crediting Nigerians for their resilience, patriotism and solidarity rather than attributing success solely to his government or the Renewed Hope team.

As his administration approaches its third anniversary, Tinubu expressed confidence in his government’s ability to deliver on its promises, stating that efforts remain focused on building a more prosperous and resilient nation.

“We are determined to confront some of the challenges we face today, and with your continued support, we shall overcome,” he said.

The president urged citizens to remain united and committed to national development, stressing the need for collective action in strengthening Nigeria’s position as a leading force in Africa.

Tinubu concluded by reiterating his appreciation to Nigerians and reaffirming his administration’s resolve to secure a better future for coming generations.
