Sokoto State Governor Ahmed Aliyu has approved the early payment of February salaries to civil servants and pensioners, scheduled to commence Friday, February 13, in preparation for the upcoming Ramadan festivities.
The governor’s directive aims to support workers and retirees in meeting their personal and family obligations during the holy month. Officials confirmed that the early disbursement will cover all state civil servants, including those in ministries, departments, and agencies, as well as pensioners receiving monthly payments.
Governor Aliyu described the move as part of his administration’s commitment to ensuring the welfare of public servants and retirees. “We understand the financial pressures that come with Ramadan, and we want to ensure that our hardworking civil servants and pensioners can celebrate the season comfortably,” he said.
The state’s finance ministry has been directed to release the payments promptly from February 13, allowing beneficiaries to plan for Ramadan-related expenses, including food, gifts, and religious obligations.
